Team, our summer together is winding to a close and I just wanted to take a couple minutes to tell you how thankful I am for all your hard work. As I reflect on the past few months there are a number of things that I’m thankful for. We’ve made a lot of progress as a team, and primarily I’m most excited because I really believe you grew as a team. From a successful Cow Appreciation Day to hitting the top 100 mark in the drive thru, we have a lot to be thankful for. And all of this and more is in the midst of a lot of transition. We’ve hired and developed more leaders and we’ve even seen some go to bigger and better things. A big shout out to James and Wilson for providing truly Remarkable service over the past couple of years. And the addition of Amanda, Lindy, and Michael to our leadership team has been a huge blessing. Thank you so much to you all. I’m proud to serve alongside each and every one of you.
As we approach the school season I’m sure a number of you are preparing for all of your extra-curricular activities, college applications and the like. I want you to know first that I am excited to see how we can continue to improve as a team. And I also want you to know that we as a leadership team are dedicated more so than ever to your growth professionally and personally. I won’t go into specifics in this particular post, but I want you to be ready for a number of initiatives that we will be pursuing in the fall. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again. John has given us a wonderful mission statement to Be Your Best as a restaurant and as human beings. That may sound like a pretty general mission statement. But it’s intentionally general.
As you start school this semester or start focusing on other things I want to challenge you to be your best every day. I personally challenge myself every day to be better today than I was yesterday. And I challenge you all with the same. Whether you’re at school, at home, or at work, how can you be better today than you were yesterday? I think that’s a noble question to ask yourself every day. How can you challenge yourself? Others? Me? I’m more excited than ever to see how this tangibly plays out every day. Thanks for being a great team. You all challenge me more than you might know to be a better teammate, husband and father. I’m thankful for you all.
