Be Careful! It’s Hot!

Check this video out on how to properly place the coffee lid on a coffee cup. This may sound overly detailed bit it is vitally important for both you and the guest’s safety.

I sorta like my pose. Looks like I’m praying for your safety!

Dunkirk to saving cups

After recently seeing a preview on the new movie Dunkirk about the miraculous rescue of thousands of British soldiers during WWII, I couldn’t help but think about a rescue plan for all of the cups that we are wasting here at the restaurant. πŸ˜‰ Here is a video challenge for you all for the month of August. If you drop a cup you gotta put it in the cup cemetery while everyone looks at you in shame. Don’t be that guy who drops cups. Below you’ll find my instructional video:

And here is a funny video that I will also use to say ‘Just Stop it!’ when it comes to wasting cups.

Drive Thru? What Now?

Whenever you are in the Drive thru make sure to check the screens to see our progress throughout the day. I hope this will be a fun way to maintain momentum in the Drive thru. My goal for us is to get better every day. Anybody like competing against yourself? I sure do! Let’s keep up the good work!

Manager Closing Tasks

Hey Leaders, I wanted to update you with just one more closing procedure. I have needed to give us a little more clarity on how to clean the ice bins and how often we should be doing this. So here is a short video on what I expect. Click the link below the video to see how to clean the bins properly. We have not been doing this correctly in the past so please review the video to make sure you are in the know. Thanks!

Pamphlet on cleaning the ice bin.

You can also see the video in eTrain. Simply go to eTrain and type in ‘ice’. You will see a video titled ‘Cleaning drink tower/ice bin weekly.

To be clear, one ice bin should be cleaned every night Monday through Thursday. On Friday the tea urns need to be bleached. The Manager closing task sheet will reflect this soon.

Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be checking these weekly to make sure we’re doing this according to procedure.

Mobile Mondays Starting this week!

Hey guys,

Here is a message from Pam about mobile Mondays. Pay particular attention to what you should say when handing out a DOC for people who have made mobile orders. We are showcasing mobile Mondays in order to grow Mobile Order sales. On that note, for those of you who do not have the Chick-fil-A One App, go ahead and download it. We all need to be able to explain the ins and outs of the app with our guests. Here is a link to the Apple store. And here is the android link.

For the next four Mondays we will hand out a Digital Offer Card for everyone who makes a mobile order. We are hoping to raise a lot more awareness about mobile ordering in general.

  • July 31st DOC for a free Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich
  • August 7 DOC for a free Watermelon Mint Lemonade
  • August 14 DOC for either of the above items
  • August 21 DOC for free breakfast item

All of these DOCs are housed in the marketing closet. Make sure we get those out and ready before each of these Mondays.

As always, let anyone on the leadership team know if you have any questions.

Start with the Details…

Hey team,

Below you’ll see a video Β that marks a continuation of the culture conversation we’ve been having as a team. For the next eight weeks we are going to focus on the maturity of our culture. Admittedly this video isn’t one of those touchy-feely inspirational videos, but I think the expectations described will help propel us forward in becoming a better team. Here you go:

…yikes! Sorry for the googly eyes!

Did we make it?

I know this is a long video but I think it will be worth your time. Sorry for the poor quality. I just made it on my porch which is my office away from Chick-fil-A RV.

Here is a screen shot of our ranking. You see that? 99!!!!

Get Ready for Cow Appreciation Day

Hey team,

Cow appreciation day is this coming Tuesday, July 11. I went ahead and made this short instructional video for you convenience. Be sure to check this video out as well as the link here. The link gives you multiple answers to questions that guests are sure to have. It’s going to be a fun day. I’m looking forward to spending it with you all.

Here is another link to the site since I said it would be ‘below’ the video. =)

…and one more thing. This is only the second year that CFA has given away an entree only as opposed to an entire meal in the past. Some guests may be a little upset. I encourage you to apologize to these guests but also err on the side of generosity in these situations. I will trust your judgment and your ability to provide the best service for each guest.
